Nataly Pogrebetsky, originally from Russia, is a professional violinist and dedicated music educator with over 40 years of teaching and performing experience. She has spent more than 25 years teaching in Canada, helping hundreds of students discover the joy of music and reach their full potential.
Nataly’s musical journey began at a young age, studying violin in a rigorous European tradition that emphasized both technical mastery and artistic expression. Her Russian musical heritage, rooted in discipline and artistry, continues to shape her teaching philosophy today. Over the years, she has performed in orchestras, chamber ensembles, and as a soloist—experiences that enrich her teaching with real-world musical insight.
She received her formal musical training at the State Conservatory in Baku, Azerbaijan, where she studied from 1979 to 1984 and earned her Master’s degree in violin performance and pedagogy. Following her studies, Nataly worked both as a violin teacher and as a performing artist with the Chamber Company.
Over the span of her 40-year career, Nataly has developed a passion for teaching children of all ages and has been recognized with numerous awards for excellence in music instruction.
As an educator, she combines patience, encouragement, and structure to create a positive and productive learning environment. Her students have gone on to:
- Successfully complete Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) exams
- Win prizes in music competitions
- Perform in youth and community orchestras
Many also continue to play violin simply for the love of music, carrying their passion well beyond the classroom.
Nataly believes that music is for everyone—whether it’s a child picking up the violin for the first time, a teenager preparing for advanced studies, or an adult fulfilling a lifelong dream of learning an instrument. Her passion for teaching is matched only by her commitment to every student’s success.
